Outdoor Living Space in Calgary

Calgary summers are short and spectacular. We build decks, patios and outdoor rooms that stretch the season and make the backyard the best room in the house.

What is included

Outdoor spaces fail when they are built as afterthoughts. Grade, drainage, sun, wind and privacy decide whether a deck gets used every evening or never. NUMI designs outdoor living around your actual yard and builds it to survive Calgary freeze-thaw.

Planning your project

We give you an honest range at your consultation and a fixed number after design. These are the factors that move it, and how long the work takes.

Structure and height

Walk-out decks with stairs and railings carry more structure than grade-level patios.

Material grade

Composite decking costs more upfront and nothing for a decade after.

Site conditions

Slope, access and soil decide foundations. Retaining needs are the big variable.

Features

Kitchens, fire and lighting turn a deck into a room, at a price you control feature by feature.

How long it takes

Most outdoor projects run two to five weeks on site. Spring books out fastest; planning in winter gets you the early-season slots.

The NUMI Method. Listen, Design, Build, Stand Behind. Four stages, in order, every time, with a single project lead throughout.

Common questions

Decks over a certain height and any structure attached to the house typically need permits. We handle the application when required.
Wood costs less today, composite costs less every year after. We price both so you choose with real numbers.
Slopes usually mean retaining or stepped structures. Diana C. hired us for exactly that and left us a five-star review.
Winter. Design and permits happen in the cold months and construction starts as soon as ground allows.
